Project SNaP ~ Spay Neuter and Protect has been incorporated in the State of Missouri as a not-for-profit corporation and with federal tax exempt status (501c3) on October 6, 2010.  All donations to us are tax deductible.

Project SNaP is based out of Jefferson City MO but we reach far beyond the city limits to rural Missouri where services are limited.

Project SNaP's primary focus is to provide education on the importance of spay/neuter as well as assist Missouri citizens with funding services to spay/neuter their companion animals in order to alleviate the homeless pet population. And because P in SNaP stands for Protect, we will offer assistance in any way possible to pet owners to help keep pets at home, where they belong, be it with minor medical or food assistance.    If you need help, contact us, we may be able to help.

The mission of Project SNaP is to reduce the homeless pet population by reducing pet births through spay/neuter, thereby eliminating the killing of several hundred companion animals every day in Missouri through low-cost/no cost spay neuter services; educating the youth in our state on the importance of becoming responsible pet owners; and assisting in whatever way we are able if economic or personal situations arise that cause our citizens to think they must give up their precious pets. We believe our pets are members of the family and must be cared for the same as children must be cared for.

A look at death. This is what happens to 10 million sweet pups every year because people do not spay and neuter their pets. Dogs that were killed and then placed in garbage bags. Our society can do better! Please support groups like ours who work to end the killing by assisting with spay/neuter.

Did you know that an estimated 10,000 dogs and cats are killed in animal shelters in this country EVERY DAY simply because they have no home?

If you, or someone you know, has a pet that has not been spayed or neutered, we urge you to take advantage of some of the low cost options available so you and your pet do not contribute to killing more innocent homeless dogs.  Many persons consider the birth of puppies as a “miracle.”  We believe it is a selfish miracle when every day puppies are born, 10,000 more are killed.

We ask that you do two things:

1. Share this information with everyone you know because only through education will we be able to stop the killing.

2. Educate your children about the importance of being responsible pet owners when they grow up.

CAUTION! Following are links to videos of actual shelter killings. These videos are very graphic so we urge you to use extreme caution before allowing your children to view them. The links to these videos were obtained directly from the internet and as such, Project SNaP holds no responsibility for their existence.
